Colours of Being SustainabilityDay

Saturday 18 April

Sustainability is about more than recycling and carbon offsets. So therefore we created this space for us all to explore the connection between nature, food, economy and collective responsibility. As a community here in Gothenburg.

At Colours of Being we have a community approach to all our events; our spaces facilitate connection, interaction, and being human together.

PROGRAMME

ANGLE 1 — Experience NATURE10:00 – 11:30

Nature Connection Experience
Location: Trädgårdsföreningen (Entrance by Bältespännarparkens)

We begin outdoors. Laurence Nachin guides us through a multi-sensory nature connection experience — a chance to slow down, tune in, and remember what we are part of before the conversations begin. Immerse ourselves through our senses in Trädgårdsföreningen’s atmosphere. We will use smell, hearing, sight, touch and taste, but also unique concepts specific to nature and forest bathing. Let’s experience together what it feels being one with nature again!

Lunch & Mingle‍12:00 – 13:00

Location: Colours of Being

A shared meal and room for conversation.

We're serving locally sourced food from GBG Boxen — a newly launched initiative delivering Sweden's most sustainable meals at genuinely competitive prices. Including a salad and a drink.

ANGLE 2 — Discuss CONSUMPTION & FOOD13:00 – 14:30

Interactive Panel discussion: Food for Thought – Sustainability Beyond Definition.
Location: Colours of Being

Sustainability is a hype word. Everyone talks about it. We approach it a bit differently:

This will be our collective exploration space, a bit like a town hall. We have panelists who bring knowledge and unique perspectives, AND we know sustainability is a topic where everyone has something to say. What are your thoughts?

Discuss with the four panelists:
Corina Akner [Värt Sweden],
Devansh Mehta [Colours of Being],
Prithvesh Ashok [Climate Activist, MSc Industrial Ecology],
Alejandro Petrizzo [MSc Industrial Ecology]
moderated by Swan Hering [Colours of Being].

Recorded for the Colours of Being Podcast.

ANGLE 3 — Watch ECONOMY 15:00 – 17:00

Movie Screening “Outgrow the System”
Location: Colours of Being

Screening of Outgrow the System, followed by an open thought exchange. The documentary explores emerging economic perspectives and poses a bold question: if we want to change the system, not just the climate — what system are we actually ready to build?

We close with a round of "Creating Chances" — space for the experiences of the day to find their way into the world.

Some words from Colours of Being

We created this day because we believe real sustainability begins with honest conversation — and honest conversation begins with the willingness to sit with uncomfortable questions together, in playful exploration. This is what Colours of Being is about.

We'd love to be with you there. See you on the 18th.
